Body Love Earrings

Adding onto the ‘lira collection’ this mini collection of figure earrings was created to be subversive, taking an item that’s ostensibly intended to adorn women, something delicate and pretty, and turning it into an expression of defiance and strength instead. The pieces are still delicate, but the message is loud and serves as a symbolic reminder of resistance and solidarity. Each piece is meticulously designed to capture the timeless, bold and elegant nature of the empowered person.

Glow Highlighter

In the spirit of aligning with that place in all of us that wants to shine, Fat and the Moon takes the notion of ‘highlighter’ literally and figuratively. We are delighted to present Glow, the sun inspired, golden counterpart to the silvery, moonlit Beam. The light and silky mineral based glimmer can be applied any place you want to glow. The radiance of Glow synergizes with the Spirit Medicine of St. John’s Wort, lending us the ability to bring light and clarity into the dark. Like the Sun, the Spirit Medicine of St. John’s Wort sparks the fertile darkness into life, into growth. Glow is the magic love child of plant medicine and a desire to shake what your mama gave you. Fat and the Moon takes the root word of ‘cosmetics’, ‘kosmos’, seriously. Kosmos meaning order, to arrange and ornament. Our cosmetics aim to adorn, rather than cover, the unique arrangement of each personal galaxy.

In the spirit of aligning with that place in all of us that wants to shine, Fat and the Moon presents ‘Beam’, taking the notion of ‘highlighter’ literally and figuratively.

The light and silky, mineral-based glimmer can be applied to any place you want to glow. The shimmer of Beam is magnified with the addition of Madrone spirit medicine, a tree native to the Pacific Northwest that helps us stay connected to ourselves despite whatever influential winds might be blowing. Beam is the magic love child of plant medicine and a desire to shake what your mama gave you. Fat and the Moon takes the root word of ‘cosmetics’, ‘kosmos’, seriously. Zlata Baba Lip Paint

$28.00

Zlata Baba, the Golden Hag of Slavic myth: she is sublime in her embodiment of the terrifying and brilliant aspects of Life. At times, she is the bringer of light in the power of tree-splitting lightning, at other times, through subtle shimmer that allows a potent glimpse of subtle forms. Zlata Baba is an oracle. She guides our hand in transforming the skills for survival into artful craft. As we receive the benefits of her wisdom, she must be honored with gifts.

Embedded within the metallic red depths of Zlata Baba is the Spirit Medicine of Yarrow. Yarrow supports us in knowing, and sometimes upholding the edges of our energetic membrane. Knowing our personal territory, our bounds, gives us an empowered self awareness. Yarrow carries the astringent wisdom- the annate knowing of when to be permeable, and when to contract. Yarrow mirrors the teaching of Zlata Baba: in knowing where we end and someone else begins, we can relate consciously and with balance. Yarrow Spirit Medicine assists the chronic oversharer, the perpetual merger, the default therapiser, and the over-extender.

Adorning your hot self should be fun and carefree. Toxins, ubiquitous in lipsticks, shall have no place at our party. We like to keep things simple, and simple doesn’t mean boring. Cosmetic grade mineral pigments are the basis for this color, not petroleum derived lakes or dyes, thank you very much. The Ritual: Apply with a clean finger or brush, the matte color is very potent and has incredible staying power. Use on the lips OR the eyes.

Lapis Eye Coal

$21.00

Remember rocking blue mascara real, real hard? I sure do. The thing I loved most about blue mascara was the subtle yet electric effect that gave a natural look a little surprise. In wearing the black Eye Coal on the regular, I found myself missing that deep ultramarine look that takes sultry up a couple notches to hot dang.

So guys....you know me, right?.... I want something so I make it, then I love it, then I set it free. Lapis Eye Coal was thusly born.

Having the ultramarine color in pot eyeliner form allows more diversity in application- line to smudge. That deep blue pop can be achieved by applying a little Lapis Eye Coal on the inside of your bottom eyelid with a super duper clean finger or makeup brush. For more drama- and you know we all like a little drama sometimes- line those come hither eyes on up, applying face powder or white clay as a base for the Eye Coal to hang on to. Channel yourself a little Sea or Sky God or Goddess! You know they are in there, wanting to come out!

Btw’s Lapis is a gorgeous, precious blue stone that Cleopatra used to get ground into her own version of Eye Coal. (Props Hannah for the art history gem)

Black Eye Coal

$21.00

Eye Coal is in pot form, is rich and dense. The sunflower oil base sinks into your skin, letting the pigment chill in place. Sunflower oil is light and smooth but rich at the same time. The beeswax gives the Eye Coal shape and staying power- and of course bee magic. Earth based, mineral oxide pigment and is saturated, beautiful and safe for the bod.

Because the Eye Coal is in pot form, the color can be rich and dense, something one sacrifices when eyeliner is in a stick and needs more wax to keep its shape. The sunflower oil base sinks into your skin, letting the pigment ‘dry’ in place. Sunflower oil is one of my faves, light and smooth but rich at the same time. The beeswax gives the Eye Coal shape and staying power- and of course bee magic. The mineral oxide is the pigment and is not only beautiful but safe for the bod! My goth sisters out there can even use it for lipstick while they rock out to Type O Negative (wouldn’t suggest anything I haven’t tried myself!).

Apply with a makeup brush for more defined Cleopatra looks. A tip dear friends! When applying the Eye Coal with a make up brush first apply a bit of face powder or cosmetic clay to your eye lid starting at the base of your lashes. The Clay/ powder will give the Eye Coal something to sink into and will keep your liner on sharper and longer. For that mysterious smokey appeal, apply with a squeaky clean finger on the inner rim of your bottom eye lid then close your eyes together hard to get the coal on the top inner lid and smudge the way you like.
