04-16-2022 - Tender Heart: Bewitching the Binary & Queering Your Magic
Magic is liminal and strange, weird and wyrd. It moves between worlds and transforms reality. In other words, magic is essentially queer. So why, then, is magic so mired in cis-heteronormative and binary constructs of masculine and feminine, god and goddess, athame and chalice?
Join queer and non-binary witch Charlie Claire Burgess for an exploration of gender and sexuality in Western magic and how to re-enchant your practice by embracing queerness. In this workshop, you’ll learn how to queer your practice through these lenses:
- Learning about the long history of queerness and gender nonconformity in magical traditions
- Expanding the magical polarity beyond the masculine/feminine binary
- Working with queer directional and elemental energies
- Engaging with queer gods, goddesses, and goddexxes
This is a live workshop, with a recording available for 2 weeks sent out to all registered participants.
